The hackathon runs 16 – 20 June 2025, entirely online until the live award ceremony at POLITEHNICA Bucharest, where you have the chance to present your project in front of the entire national quantum community and international guests from the quantum world. Rules*

  • Eligibility: Students enrolled at an accredited educational program (undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate) between 18 and 25 years old.
  • Teams: Between 3-5 students. Teams can be formed after the start of hackathon.
  • Tracks: The projects will be split into the following tracks: Quantum Key Distribution Software & Applications; Quantum Computing Algorithms; Quantum Education & Games; Quantum Optical Systems; Post-Quantum Cryptography. A team can tackle only one track. Specific challenges will be announced at the start of the hackathon.
  • Location: online (remote).
  • Schedule: Start on Monday, June 16th 2025. Eliminatory round (online presentations): Tuesday, June 17th 2025. Hackathon Final: Friday, June 20th (on-site at POLITEHNICA Bucharest or online). Awards ceremony: Friday, June 20th (on-site at POLITEHNICA Bucharest – another member of your University can collect your award if you cannot make it).
