Constanta Maritime University (CMU) is a higher education and research state owned institution, formerly known as the Merchant Maritime Institute, established in 1972 and transformed into a civilian institution in 1990.

CMU is the first organizer of Black Sea Cyber Security Conference, held annually since 2017 by our Maritime Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, and is currently developing a Cybersecurity Maritime Operations Center for Research, Education and Autonomous Operations - CYMAROP and the first Computer Emergency Response Team in the maritime field.

CMU is a full member of European Security and Defence College jointly organizing this year the Cyber ETEE Conference and Cyber ETEE Summer School (for Cyber Education, Training, Evaluation and Exercise at the strategic, tactical and technical level), with EAB.Cyber network endorsement.
